THE CHERRY TREE PATHWAY
POST-ORDINATION OPPORTUNITIES
We know that some of you may be thinking, “Okay, I’m going to do this training, but what comes next?” The answer is as unique as each individual, and honestly, there is no one-size-fits-all response—there are millions of different paths this training can take you on. For some, the path is clear from the start. You might know you want a career in celebrity, leading weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies that hold deep meaning for people. For others, the journey may take a different form — perhaps you’re drawn to keep your ministry close to home, offering workshops, hosting poetry nights, or engaging in community service, where you can make a difference in the lives of those around you.
The beauty of the OneSpirit training is that it opens doors to a wide array of possibilities. Some ministers find fulfilment in traditional roles, while others create their own unique paths that reflect their individual callings and passions. Whether you’re looking to serve locally, nationally, or even globally, the opportunities are boundless — and we are here to help you navigate them.
No matter which direction you take, your ministry will be shaped by your personal journey, the skills you’ve developed, and the community you’ve built along the way. So, embrace the unknown, knowing that whatever path you choose, it will be uniquely yours. We’re here to support you every step of the way, helping you discover how your training can be the foundation for a fulfilling and impactful ministry.
Exploring the Many Pathways of Ministry
Becoming a minister is a deeply personal journey, and no two paths look the same. At OneSpirit, we celebrate the many ways our ministers bring their unique gifts to the world.
Ministry can take many forms, from creating meaningful ceremonies to offering spiritual guidance, coaching, or even exploring creativity as a spiritual practice. Whether you’re drawn to crafting rituals, accompanying others on their spiritual journey, or blending creative expression with spirituality, there’s a route to ministry that honours your passions and talents.
Ceremonies & Rituals
Our ministers craft deeply personal ceremonies that reflect your unique beliefs and emotions. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, honouring a loved one with a funeral, welcoming a new life with a baby blessing, marking a significant life transition through a rite of passage, or bidding farewell to a cherished pet, we offer ceremonies to suit every occasion. Each ritual is tailored to ensure it resonates with your heart and holds meaning for all involved.
Spiritual Accompaniment
Not everyone’s path includes ceremonies, but many ministers offer spiritual accompaniment to guide individuals on their journey. This can involve deep inquiry, where you explore your emotions and thoughts for growth and healing. Ministers provide a reflective space, helping you look at your experiences from a new perspective, and offer holistic support that nurtures your mind, body, and spirit. The approach is always non-judgmental, offering empathy, compassion, and understanding.
Coaching, Chaplaincy & More
For those drawn to coaching, chaplaincy, or personal guidance, our ministers offer a wide range of services aimed at growth and resilience. Whether it’s spiritual guidance, personalised coaching to build confidence, therapies for overall wellness or business training to improve team dynamics, we’re here to support you in every area of life, helping you move forward with clarity and purpose.
Sacred Creativity
Our ministers also incorporate creativity into their spiritual practices, offering a variety of creative workshops and rituals. These may include meditative crafting, storytelling ceremonies that blend personal narratives with ancient myths, artistic rituals that incorporate music, poetry, or visual arts, or creative workshops using art, writing, or dance to explore spirituality. Each offering is designed to connect deeply with your personal journey. Other options include vision journeys, where you use art-making to map out your dreams, symbolic expression sessions to create personal spiritual symbols, and renewal rites that focus on artistic creation as a form of transformation.

Through virtual services, online workshops, and digital content, your ministry can span continents and help create peace wherever it’s needed.
EmbraCING Your Calling
Spiritual Leadership and Service
Local Ministry & Congregational Leadership
As an ordained minister, you may choose to serve within your local community, offering spiritual guidance and support to congregations or individuals. This could involve leading ceremonies, offering one-on-one spiritual accompaniment, or providing teachings and workshops.
Interfaith & Multi-faith Leadership
The world today calls for compassionate leaders who can bridge gaps and promote interfaith dialogue. As a OneSpirit ordained minister, you can pursue opportunities in interfaith organisations, community groups, or religious settings. You’ll have the skills to facilitate conversations across traditions and work towards fostering peace, understanding, and unity in diverse communities.
Retreats & Workshops
Leading retreats is a powerful way to offer deep spiritual experiences to individuals and groups. You might be drawn to create your own retreats or workshops, guiding others in meditation, deep listening, spiritual growth, or healing practices. Through these experiences, you can deepen your own practice while serving the spiritual needs of others.
Expanding Your Skill Set
Teaching & Mentorship
As a OneSpirit minister, you have the opportunity to teach, share knowledge, and mentor others who are on a similar spiritual path. Whether it’s offering online courses, facilitating groups, or becoming a mentor for OneSpirit students or alumni, teaching is a way to pass on the wisdom you’ve gained and help others grow.
Spiritual Coaching & Accompaniment
Many ordained ministers find fulfilment in offering spiritual coaching or accompaniment. With your training in deep listening and spiritual guidance, you can help individuals navigate their personal spiritual journeys, address challenges, and find meaning in their lives.
Ministry in Healthcare, Education, & the Arts
Ministry doesn’t always look like traditional roles. As an ordained minister, you might find your calling in healthcare, education, or the arts. You can serve as a hospital chaplain, offer spiritual guidance in schools or universities, or bring creative, soul-nurturing practices to the arts through music, dance, and other forms of expression.
Serving the Greater Good
Social Justice & Advocacy
Many ministers find their calling in activism, seeking to make a difference in the world. Whether it’s through working with marginalized communities, engaging in environmental advocacy, or promoting social justice causes, your ordination provides a powerful foundation for activism rooted in compassion and spiritual values.
Nonprofit & Charity Work
Another pathway post-ordination is working with or establishing nonprofit organizations that align with your passions. Whether it’s focused on environmental sustainability, human rights, mental health, or community support, your work as a minister can influence and create positive change in society.
